From the inn's chair - Tatras 2014 / Z karczemnego krzesła - Tatry 2014

25th August 2014 / 25 sierpnia 2014

Głodówka, Tatras, afternoon / Głodówka, Tatry, po południu

After a delicious dinner at the Głodówka Inn (Bogdan - dumplings; myself - a huge bowl of bigos, which Bogdan was finishing anyway), we came outside, into the sun. We expected a cloudy and rainy day; meanwhile, it is sunny and warmer than yesterday. And right in front of us there is a magnificent view of the Tatras. A przed sobą mamy okazałą panoramę Tatr.

We eavesdropped when a man was explaining where the peak of Rysy is, but I still am not sure. But I found out that the Polish mountain is five metres lower than the one in Slovakia. I can imagine that five metres can make a difference to the climbers' ambition.

A little below us there are traditional mountain cottages, guarded by a beautiful Tatra sheepdog. From time to time a car passes the street - there's nothing left but take a nap on a full belly... Although it would be a shame, because the view is fantastic. From the inn's chair it's even better, because it's comfortable to look at. But down the hill, on the other side of the road, there is a view point with binoculars, where one can marvel at the Southern pride of Poland and happily take a few panoramic shots.

This is definitely a place worth recommending to everyone who prefer a simple Polish cuisine (very reasonably priced) and a natural equivalent of TV.
